What are the social programs in P-WEC?
P-WEC is a non for profit organization. All the profits will go to ProFauna Indonesia for its wildlife and forest conservation. P-WEC runs many social programs including:
Petungsewu Wildlife Education Center
 Since nature conservation is not taught in schools, especially the remote and poor ones, as a compulsory subject; P-WEC regularly teaches nature conservation to the poor schools by the forests for free. |
 P-WEC staff members become voluntary teachers in the remote schools surrounding P-WEC because those schools are lack of teachers. |
 P-WEC gives scholarships to several school children of the remote and poor villages surrounding P-WEC center so they can continue to higher level of education. |
 Every month, P-WEC holds a mobile library program, a program where P-WEC brings children books in a station wagon and comes to remote villages surrounding P-WEC center so that the poor children can read for free. |
 P-WEC together with the locals of some remote villages by the forests develops eco-tourism and agro-tourism programs to give alternative jobs for the villagers and prevent them to destroy the forests |
 P-WEC regularly holds an informal discussion of nature conservation in a program called Green Hang Out. In the program, P-WEC always invites some keynote speakers and the public including villagers to come and share about nature conservation. Green Hang Out is an informal discussion about nature and wildlife conservation held. It invites anyone concerning nature and wildlife conservation issues and is free of charge. |
 P-WEC provides assistances in the publishing and promotion of a Wildlife Hunting Ban (local regulation) of Kucur Village to protect the wildlife in the areas. |
 P-WEC provides assistance to a sub-village of Sumberbendo to promote its local cultures and wisdoms which are supporting the environment and nature conservation. |
 P-WEC holds regular lectures of nature conservation in the remote and poor villages by the forest by playing a film and giving speeches of nature conservation. |
